Jordan has an abundance of industrial rocks and mineral resources, some being exploited and utilized while other have undergone extensive studies and now require interested investors to complete their exploration and development.
Limestone is sedimentary rock composed mainly of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) occurring as calcite or occasionally aragonite in recent deposits, and as for the pure limestone which is predominates in high (CaCO3) is more than 95%. While NCC's quarries produce parity levels of 99.5%
Pure Limestone Uses
Agricultural uses in soil conditioning, fertilizers and animals feed. As filler material in paints, rubber, paper, ceramics, floor tiles.
Development Opportunities
The future for calcium carbonate in Jordan will be based on future development of the paints, plastics and polymer industries in the Middle East. Carbonates Companies in Jordan have established themselves as regional leaders in the field.
And due to the demand for (CaCO3), National Carbonate Company was established during 2009 to take part in development of Calcium Carbonate industry, by establishing a modern factory, with a production capacity of 60,000 tpy as a start, and we expand its capacity during 2019 to 2020 to 200,00tpy.
NCC started its production with good specifications and quality that is needed by the neighboring and international markets.
The company operates a plant at (Damkhi) 70km south of Amman based on Jordanian high purity limestone to produce a wide range of ultra-fine product up to the granular.
The plant supplied with limestone from quarries owned by the company, which have an estimated reserve of 20,000,000 tons with guaranteed quality
